This project produced a book presenting drawings and paintings on economics (both
macroeconomics and household economics) which were created by fourth grade children (9-10
years old) from schools in the province of Río Negro in December 2023.
The book also contains short texts written by experts with reflections on these artworks from
different disciplinary perspectives. The children’s artwork and the expert reflections were
carried out as part of a research/outreach project that involved the Ministry of Education and
Human Rights of the Province of Río Negro, the National University of Río Negro and
UNICEF Argentina.

This book presents drawings produced by children in fourth grade (8-9 years old) from elementary schools in the province of Río Negro (Argentina), in which they express what they know, feel and want about the economy (both macroeconomics and household economics). Many of these drawings show psychic suffering due to the effects of a system of exclusion, poverty and inequality. In some of them, individualism and lack of empathy are evident; however, values such as solidarity and inclusion are also evident. The book also contains chapters written by experts with reflections on these artistic productions from various disciplinary fields, such as education, psychology, human rights, economics, psycho-pedagogy and sociology.
